Our school basketball team received a great boost recently with success at a Cork schools blitz. Fr. Mathew players, Mai O’Leary and Dearbhla Breen visited the team to present them with certificates for their achievement. The team were further honored with a lovely write up in the Evening Echo.

5th and 6th class pupils had the honour of meeting author, Michael Morpurgo in City Hall on November 3rd. Michael has written over 120 novels, many of which can be found in our school library.

The One Book One Community Project was launched by the lord Mayor at the Lough today. Children from all the local primary schools gathered together to begin a fortnight of work on Michael Morpurgo’s “Mr. Nobody’s Eyes.” World Champion, Bernard Dunne popped along to encourage all our young people to keep up their love of reading.
Senior classes were treated to a golf workshop on Wednesday last. Great fun was had!
The Boys’ Football Team gave us a heart stopping match against Barney Street N.S. in Páirc Uí Chaoimh today. The boys returned home champions!
