Basketball Success!
Our school basketball team received a great boost recently with success at a Cork schools blitz. Fr. Mathew players, Mai O’Leary and Dearbhla Breen visited the team to present them with certificates for their achievement. The team were further honored with a lovely write up in the Evening Echo.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day
We made shamrock hats and Irish flags for St. Patrick’s Day. I’m sure the mums and dads are going to love the copious amounts of gold glitter we decorated them with. Then we dressed up in green coats. Teacher thought we looked like leprechauns but we insisted that we were St. Patrick. Here we are waving our flags. Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone.
Happy Birthday Andrew
Andrew celebrated his 6th birthday in school today. Here he is wearing the birthday hat.
We sang him the birthday song and then he blew out the candles
But teacher had played a trick on us. The candles kept re-lighting. So we all had to help Andrew blow out the candles.

World Book Day
Today is World Book Day. We all dressed up as characters from our favourite books. We really enjoyed acting out our new personas for the day.
Pizza Party
Today in school we made pizzas. Yum!First we spread tomato sauce on the base.
Then we used sweet corn, tomatoes, ham and pineapple for the toppings. Then we put cheese on top.
Then we heated them in the oven until the cheese melted. Some people got very creative and made pizza people. They were delicious.
Insect Adventure
Today we read a book about two children who went on an adventure in their garden. They found lots of insects hiding in the garden. We used our magnifying glasses to help the children find all the insects. As you can see from the pictures, we took our job very seriously and managed to find all the insects. Well done everyone!
Happy Valentine’s Day
The Senior Language Class made beautiful Valentine’s cards for their families. Just look at their works of art. Happy Valentines Day everyone!
A fox came to visit
We had a very unusual visitor to Greenmount over the past few weeks. A beautiful red fox came to visit us with his friend. We watched them play in the garden. Then we wrote reports on the fox. We wrote about what the fox eats and what he can do. Then we drew fantastic pictures of the fox.
