Ms. Rice’s 6th Class took 3rd prize in the Discover Cork Schools’ Heritage Project Competition. Their project was a very thorough history of their 160 year old school and included a history of the famous Greenmount area. The class carried out an interview with past pupil and former Lord Mayor, Toddy O’Sullivan, to find out what school was like in the past. This is the second big win for Greenmount in this competition in recent years.
A selection of classes dressed up in odd socks for National Down Syndrome Day. All over the country boys and girls wore odd socks to school to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland. All the money raised at Greenmount N.S. on the day will be donated to Down Syndrome Cork.
