Greenmount was treated to an hour long jazz band performance on the Friday of Cork Jazz Weekend. Fresh off the plane from Holland, Lamarotte had us dancing and singing along. Some of our talented and brave school band members even joined in.
The Greenmount Minions performed their version of “Happy” by Pharrell Williams at our recent 6th Class Graduation Ceremony. A happy song to wish 6th Class the best of luck in secondary school.
Greenmount pupils perform with the Barrack Street Senior and Youth Band at a concert held in Greenmount School Hall. The future of the Barrack Street Band looks bright.
Ryan Dineen, his brother, sister and dad, Maurice, recently gave a musical performance to first and second class pupils. Great to see such wonder musical talent at the Green!
Greenmount has a vibrant school choir. Our choir rehearse weekly and perform at school functions and local events. In 2013 the choir are due to perform in City Hall as part of the Cork Peace Prom performances.
Greenmount School Choir hit the high notes at this year’s Peace Proms Concert in City Hall, on 24th February, 2013! The children sang in a combined choir with children from other Cork schools, accompanied by the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. Choir members rehearsed intensively in the lead up to the concert and their hard work and dedication resulted in a wonderful performance. Well done to everyone involved!

Greenmount’s school choir are particpating in a concert run by the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland on Sunday, the 24th of February, in Cork city hall at 2pm. Tickets are on sale in Pinocchio’s toy shop on Paul street, Cork and cost €12.50 each. Tickets can also be purchased online atwww.cboi.ie and have an added booking fee of €2 for bookings made online.

Greenmount’s link with the famous Barrack Street Band means that we are lucky to have our very own Junior Brass Band. This year the band has performed for the Lord Mayor of Cork and on the City Hall stage on two occasions. Their success has seen them gracing the front page of the Evening Echo as well as having been featured in two other national newspapers.
