Hi everyone, sixth class here to tell ye all about our first month in sixth class!
We have had a busy month settling back into school, the summer holidays seem like ages ago!!
Here are a few of the things that we have done during the month;
We are looking forward to October already!
Bye for now,
Sixth Class 🙂
6th Class went out with a bang at their recent graduation ceremony with rousing drumming and cup performances.
The Greenmount Minions performed their version of “Happy” by Pharrell Williams at our recent 6th Class Graduation Ceremony. A happy song to wish 6th Class the best of luck in secondary school.
6th Class boys and girls accepted their many chess awards at their Graduation Ceremony.
Micheál Meenan was awarded male pupil of the year by his fellow peers.
Caitlín Crowe was awarded female pupil of the year by her fellow peers.
Emily Roe received the Gaeilgeoir Award for her use of the Irish Language.
Alan McDonald was awarded the 6th Class Outstanding Achievement Award for academic excellence.
6th Class collected coins to create a coin mural. The collection came to almost €150. Conor Forde presented the money to Brother Aiden at the 6th Class Graduation Ceremony to be donated to a primary school in Ghana. Well done 6th on such a creative and generous project.
6th Class re-enacted the American Civil War with actors today. It is 150 years since the Civil War and history was brought to life with costumes and props. Amazing experience for all involved.
In 6th class we are learning how to stay safe online. We learned that one in seven young people are being bullied online through the social media outlets they use. We devised rules to keep ‘Cyber Safe’. Once it’s said the web is fed!.
Congratulations to sixth class who put on a great performance in the Lough Church on Friday for the Christmas play.
