Hey,
We had lots of fun building houses out of lego last week. Check them out!
Hey,
We had lots of fun building houses out of lego last week. Check them out!
Today we had our prize giving for our poster/slogan/rap competition.
The theme was ‘energy awareness’. Well done to all who entered. Congratulations to all of our winners!!
Our theme this month has been the season of Spring. We have been reading lots of spring stories and learning spring poems. Yesterday we went out to the garden to look for signs of spring. We saw that the daffodils we planted are blooming. We found buds and cherry blossoms growing on trees. We even found nests. We can’t wait to see if baby birds hatch in the nests.
Well done to all who participated in our Day of Action! Today we had a Green Day to raise awareness about energy conservation.
We held a poster competition to find a new slogan and poster on the theme. We had a ‘no power’ morning to see what it would be like if we had no electricity.
We had to work in the dark. Ber and Mr Hurley could not work as the offices were too dark and the computers were switched off. Classes had no white boards!! We realise now how much we depend on electricity in Greenmount.
We are very busy with our recycling work.
We continue to recycle our old mobile phones. We hope to have enough phones to get a second ipad for our school shortly. Please continue to recycle your phones at our recycling station which is by our notice board.
We also recycle batteries and stamps.
On the last friday of every month we hold a uniform recycling day. We sell second hand uniforms of very good quality at low cost.
Check out our Healthy Green School Notice board.
All of our entries for our Healthy Green School theme of ‘Energy’ are now on display. Come and have a look!!
Today our class took part in a flag making workshop. We are so lucky! We really enjoyed it. Our flags will be flying high up over the Shandon Bells in June! There will be a thousand flags flying high altogether. Check back next week to see Part 2 of our workshop….
We had a great day today! We had a pancake party and got to put lots of yummy fillings into our pancakes!
