Amazing Apples

We have been learning all week about apples. On Friday we made apple juice and ate apple tart with knives and forks. We feel so grown up.  Then we made apple trees with paint. What a great day.

Fun with reading buddies!!

This week fifth and sixth classes paired up with junior and senior infants as part of our reading buddy system. Children from older classes became reading buddies to children from younger classes and each child read a book to their reading buddy. We are looking forward to doing this once a week for the school year. Well done to everybody involved. We are already looking forward to next week!!!

We Ran To London!!!

Fifth and Sixth classes have been using our school walkway daily and we decided to set ourselves a challenge to run to Poland. After only 2 weeks we have already reached London! This is a distance of 597km or approximately 3000 laps around the school!!

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to one of the lovely little girls in our language class. Thank you mum for sending in yummy birthday cake and princess party bags. We had a lovely party.

Our New School Fairy Garden.

The language class were so excited to go outside and explore the fairy garden. We knocked on many fairy doors and rang the fairy bell but so far, none of us have caught a glimpse of the elusive fairies yet. Fingers crossed for next time. We love our new fairy garden.

Our First Week

We had a busy first week in the Language Class. Lots of new things to explore and try out. Check out these fab photos of us.

Bon Voyage

Ms. Aherne’s class and Ms. O Connor’s class flew off on their holidays today. First of all they had to make sure their passports were in order before they could board the plane. The pilot and co-pilot welcomed them on board while the air host served tea and made sure everyone had their seatbelts on. Some children flew to Spain, some to Mexico and some even went as far as Iceland. We hope they make it back in time for school tomorrow.

School Tour

Today, we went to Rumleys Farm on our school tour. We saw lots of farm animals and we even got to rub a baby rabbit and a lamb called Billy. We love the farm.

Active Schools Day Four

What a busy week we have had. On Thursday, some very kind volunteers from St. Finbarr’s Club visited our school to teach us how to play hurling and football. We also had fun in our lovely school garden. We are loving active schools week.
